Afenil 2

Afenil 2 is a Food for Special Medical Purposes (FSMP) designed for children aged 1 year and over, teenagers and adults with phenylketonuria (PKU) or hyperphenylalaninaemia (HPA). The formula contains highly purified L-amino acids free from phenylalanine and is designed to provide the body with the necessary protein equivalent without the additional burden of phenylalanine intake.

Afenil 2 is part of a specialised low-Phe dietary therapy programme and supports a stable amino acid balance in patients of all ages. The formula contains no phenylalanine, fat or carbohydrates, allowing more flexible adaptation of the energy component of the diet to the patient's clinical needs.

What does Afenil 2 contain?

• L-threonine

• contains tyrosine as a conditionally essential amino acid in PKU

• is fortified with vitamins and micronutrients
